NOFA for the FUTURE
2009-2012
NOFA, the Negros Occidental Football Association headed by Mr. Carlos O. Cojuangco, and through its Technical Committee, has submitted its Master Plan for the next three seasons. This plan includes the season 2009-2010 to dispute a 2nd edition of the league U-11 "The First Step" and the introduction of the league U-13 "The Golden Step" on a system of home/away in two rounds.
Unlike the first edition of the successful U-11 played the last season, from now it will be included girls playing together with boys on the different teams. For the U-13 it will be implemented the offside law in a certain sector of the field.
Both leagues start on Saturday August 15 and will finish next December, with the already confirmed participation of 10 teams representing public and private schools of Bacolod and surroundings. In January 2010 it will repeat both leagues finishing in April. By this way, our children will have a permanent competitive framework during this season 2009-2010.
Also the plan includes the creation of the NOFA teams U-11 and U-13 to compete in different regions of the country. The most prominent players in the Province will be selected for these teams.
NOFA has the conviction that through the leagues, it will be generated needs in other fields such as training for coaches and referees through clinics and refreshing courses, involving the families of the children and betting in the implication of the school authorities and the communities.
In addition, from August to December 2009 there will be played three festivals U-9 named "Seeds to Sow", 4 a side, boys and girls, in the north (Cadiz, August 8), south (Hinigaran, September 12)and central (Bacolod, October 24) of the province. In December 5 in Bago City, headquarter of NOFA and one of the best sport complex in the country, the provincial finals will be played with the participation of the 2 best teams from each region and playing 7 against 7, as a way to prepare the children to play next season in the league 7 aside.
May is again the month for the 3rd edition of the National Collegiate Invitational Football for which have already been extended invitations to different universities.
The 2010-2011 season, marks the implementation of the U-15 league named "The Binding Step”, with an 11 aside format. Moreover, the creation of the league U-17 is the main objective for the season 2011-2012, and so on during the next years.
NOFA bet heavily on the creation and implementation of a competitive progressive structure, permanent and with a genuine and professional projection for the grassroots, the future of our football.
The Master plan points at the social, cultural and sportive integration of all the regions of Negros Occidental, always through the football, and so to boost to the province as a cradle of the best football players, coaches and referees along the Philippine geography.

The NOFA, as the official governing body of the destiny of the football in the Province, continues working for the future.-
